Eva's Musical All Sorts

This is really just a list of my favourite music and where possible, links to useful pages related to those artists. If you like any of the stuff below and want to chat about anything to do with them, drop me a line.

And if you think that you've heard a band that I might like suggest it to me! I love to find out about new music, and no it doesn't have to be Australian =8).

My musical tastes are broad. That means it takes in everything from Mozart to grunge. 80's music is fantastic, but the one area I steer away from is very very commercial music, e.g. Britney Spears, Girlfirend, Backstreet Boys etc... My radio station of choice is Triple J (even with it's constant repetition), so that should give you a good indication of what I normally subject my ears to.

My Fave albums of all time

I guess you could call this my desert island list, or the list of albums that have stayed with me over time, but I think you get my meaning. In no particular order...

Love And Money - Strange Kind Of Love
The ultimate mood album for me. It's not black or dark, but just has an overall tone which is great to listen to when you're inbetween moods. Not depressed, just out of sorts. Just gives me the right feeling by the end of it, and makes me wanna keep on playing it over and over again.

Nick Heyward - I Love You Avenue
Such great pop songs! How could you forget about Nick after his Haircut 100 days... so much more material there. Fantastic sing along summer type tunes, with great currents of sentimenality, not schlock. Just the way I like it.

Wet Wet Wet - High On The Happy Side
You might call them poppy and write them off as teeny bopper trash, but I've liked them for an awful long time, and as an album, this one really holds together for me. A great set of songs to study too - just sing-along-able enough to stick in your head, but background-ish enough to forget about.

Various - The Mambo Kings Soundtrack
Such a grooving album. Bouncy sounds all over. I bought this as a cheapy but it started my interest in this type of Latin American/Cuban music. I've only seen the movie once (and found out that Antonio Banderas couldn't even speak English at the time - he did it all phonetically) but I'm sure I'd get much more from it with another viewing after hearing the music so often.

The Barenaked Ladies - Stunt
It's only a new album, but already it's something that I don't tire of. It's got rocking tracks and quiet songs and if I were on a desert island this would surely cheer me up and make me feel better about my situation.
